In short

  1. Ro is run by Roman Health Ventures Inc. of New York, in business since 2017. Ro-affiliated providers prescribe, and Roman Health Pharmacy or a partner pharmacy fills cash-pay prescriptions.
  2. For weight loss, Ro prescribes brand-name GLP-1s only: the Wegovy pill and pen, Foundayo and the Zepbound KwikPen, plus insurance help for Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound pens.
  3. As of Oct 27, 2026, the Ro Body membership is $39 for the first month, then $149 a month, or as low as $74 a month on a 12-month prepaid plan.
  4. Medication is billed separately, from $149 a month for the Wegovy pill or Foundayo at starting doses, so a month-to-month start costs $298 a month after the first month.
  5. On Oct 27, 2026 Ro had a 3.9 TrustScore from 7,430 Trustpilot reviews and an A+ BBB rating with 761 complaints in 3 years. We found no FDA warning letter to Ro.

Yes. Ro is a real US telehealth company, run by Roman Health Ventures Inc. in New York, that displays LegitScript certification, prescribes only FDA-approved GLP-1s for weight loss and held an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau when we checked on Oct 27, 2026. The catches are cost and billing: the Ro Body membership is charged on top of the medication, membership fees already billed aren’t refunded, and billing is the most common theme in its complaints. Here is what we confirmed on Ro’s own pages and in public records.

Who runs Ro

Ro is the brand of Roman Health Ventures Inc., 625 6th Avenue, New York. The BBB lists the business as started in April 2017. Ro’s terms name its affiliates, including Roman Health Medical LLC and Roman Health Pharmacy LLC. Care comes from Ro-affiliated providers: you complete an online health history, a provider reviews it, and if a GLP-1 suits you they prescribe it, with ongoing check-ins, on-demand messaging, side effect management and dose adjustments.

Where your prescription goes depends on how you pay. Ro’s terms say cash-pay prescriptions can be filled by Roman Health Pharmacy or a partner pharmacy in what Ro calls the Ro Pharmacy Network, and some Lilly medicines by a LillyDirect partner pharmacy. If insurance covers your drug, the prescription goes to your own pharmacy for pickup.

Licensing, LegitScript and the FDA

Online prescribing is legal when a clinician licensed in your state reviews your health information and a licensed pharmacy fills the prescription, and that is how Ro works. Ro’s weight-loss page displays a LegitScript certification seal; we checked it on Oct 27, 2026, and you can confirm it by searching ro.co at legitscript.com. LegitScript reviews whether a telehealth company follows licensing and pharmacy rules. It doesn’t rate the quality of care.

We searched the FDA’s warning letter pages for Ro and Roman Health Ventures on Oct 27, 2026 and found no warning letter. Most of the FDA’s recent letters to telehealth companies were about how they marketed compounded GLP-1s, and Ro’s weight-loss program doesn’t sell compounded GLP-1s.

What Ro prescribes for weight loss

Ro’s weight-loss program lists brand-name, FDA-approved GLP-1s only:

  • The Wegovy pill and the Foundayo pill, both daily tablets, cash pay
  • The Wegovy pen, a weekly injection, cash pay or insurance
  • The Zepbound KwikPen, a weekly injection, cash pay only on Ro
  • The Zepbound pen (autoinjector), insurance or cash pay
  • Ozempic, insurance or cash pay

There are no compounded GLP-1s in the program. Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes, and Ro’s page says it may be prescribed off-label for weight loss at a provider’s discretion.

The Wegovy and Zepbound labels open with a boxed warning about the risk of thyroid C-cell tumors, and say not to use them with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2. Each medication page above lists its own warnings; give your provider your full history.

How much is Ro? The membership

Ro bills two separate charges: a membership and the medication. Prices below are from ro.co, read on Oct 27, 2026.

The Ro Body membership is $39 for the first month, and Ro refunds that $39 if you aren’t eligible for a GLP-1. After that, you choose a plan:

PlanMembership priceHow it’s billed
Monthly$149 a monthEvery month
3 months$99 a monthPrepaid every 3 months
6 months$89 a monthPrepaid every 6 months
12 months$74 a monthPrepaid once a year

The membership covers your treatment plan, provider messaging and check-ins, coaching, the insurance concierge and lab tests if needed. It doesn’t include medication.

Ro GLP-1 cost: the medication

Ro says its cash prices match LillyDirect, NovoCare and TrumpRx.

MedicationCash price on Ro
Wegovy pill$149 at 1.5 mg, $199 at 4 mg, $299 at 9 mg and 25 mg; Ro calls the starting price a limited-time offer for new patients
Foundayo pill$149 at 0.8 mg; $149 at 2.5 mg and $199 at 5.5 mg through Dec 31, 2026; $299 at 9 mg; $299 at 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg with the maker’s offer, or $349 if you miss the 45-day refill check-in
Wegovy pen$199 at 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg for the first two months (sign up by Dec 31, 2026); $349 at 1 mg to 2.4 mg; $399 at 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD)
Zepbound KwikPen$299 at 2.5 mg and $399 at 5 mg; $449 at 7.5 mg to 15 mg if you complete each refill check-in within 45 days, or $499 (7.5 mg) and $699 (10 mg to 15 mg) if you miss it

Ro also sells multi-month medication plans for the Wegovy pen and pill once the makers’ introductory prices end. It says a 12-month plan saves $150 a month on the Wegovy pen or $50 a month on the pill.

What a month really costs. Add the two charges together. On the Wegovy pill or Foundayo at a starting dose, your first month is $188 ($39 plus $149), then $298 a month on the monthly membership ($149 plus $149). Prepay a year of membership ($888 up front, or $74 a month) and the same medication comes to $223 a month. On Zepbound at 2.5 mg, month to month, it’s $448 ($149 plus $299).

Because Ro charges the makers’ self-pay prices for the drugs, the main difference between Ro and other brand-name programs is the membership. Among programs we list, as of October 2026, Sesame lists cash prices from $149 a month for the Wegovy pill plus a $99 monthly subscription ($59 a month on its annual plan), and Measured’s brand-name path has a membership from $49 a month. Compare it with brand-name GLP-1 programs and with programs that charge no membership. Our guides to Wegovy pill cost and Zepbound cost set out the makers’ prices dose by dose.

Insurance: what Ro’s concierge does

Ro checks your coverage free for Ozempic, Wegovy and the Zepbound autoinjector pens. If your plan needs a prior authorization, Ro’s insurance concierge submits the paperwork. If you’re covered, the prescription goes to your pharmacy, which Ro says takes about 1 to 2 weeks; if you aren’t, your provider suggests a cash-pay option. The membership itself is self-pay whatever your coverage. See GLP-1 programs that work with insurance for others that do this.

Ro reviews: what the ratings say

PlatformScoreCountWhat else to know
Trustpilot3.9 TrustScore7,430 reviews (5,078 in the last 12 months)65% 5-star, 21% 1-star; Ro invites customers to review
Better Business BureauA+761 complaints in 3 years, 408 in the last 12 monthsBBB accredited since July 23, 2018

Both were read on Oct 27, 2026. These ratings cover all of Ro’s services, including ED and hair loss, so treat them as a picture of the company rather than Ro weight loss reviews alone.

In the 1-star Trustpilot reviews shown on Oct 27, the themes were membership fees that weren’t refunded, slow refunds, a charge and shipment the reviewer said they never agreed to, difficulty reaching a person about billing, and a delivery with the wrong dose. The BBB says its grades are based on complaint history, transparency and available public data, so an A+ can sit alongside a high complaint count.

Refunds and cancellation

From Ro’s pricing page, read on Oct 27, 2026:

  • You’re charged the membership only if you’re eligible for treatment, and the $39 first month is refunded if you aren’t eligible for GLP-1s.
  • You can cancel the membership at any time, but you must cancel before the next billing period to avoid that charge.
  • Monthly fees already charged aren’t refunded.
  • Multi-month plans are paid up front for the whole term, and the next charge comes when the plan renews.

The bottom line

Ro is legit: a licensed, LegitScript-certified telehealth company with its own affiliated medical company and pharmacy, an A+ BBB rating and no FDA warning letter we could find. It suits people who want brand-name GLP-1s and help getting insurance to pay for them. Budget for both charges: at least $298 a month on the monthly membership after the first month, or less if you prepay the membership for a year, and cancel before the next billing period if you stop.
