What Foundayo is
Foundayo contains orforglipron and is made by Eli Lilly. Approved April 1, 2026. It is a small-molecule pill, not a peptide like semaglutide.
FDA-approved for
- Long-term weight reduction (adults)
Dosing
Daily pill, any time, with or without food. 0.8 mg, then 2.5 mg, then 5.5 mg, then 9 mg, 14.5 mg or 17.2 mg, with at least 30 days at each step. Your clinician sets the pace, and it is common to stay at a dose longer if side effects are hard to manage.
How well it works
In ATTAIN-1, the 17.2 mg dose produced 11.1% average weight loss over 72 weeks, vs 2.1% on placebo. These are averages from clinical trials; your results may be different.
Foundayo cost
$149 (0.8 mg and 2.5 mg), $199 (5.5 mg) and $299 (9 mg and up) a month self-pay at LillyDirect; some prices are reduced through Dec 31, 2026. If your commercial insurance covers it, the manufacturer savings card can bring the cost down to as little as $25 a month. For every price option, read GLP-1 without insurance: every cash-pay option by true monthly cost. For the steps, read How to get a GLP-1 prescription online, step by step.
Common side effects
Stomach-related side effects are the most common, especially while the dose is going up. Percentages show people on the medication vs placebo in the label trials.
