Sources we rely on

Medical facts come from FDA-approved prescribing information, FDA announcements and peer-reviewed trials. Prices come from manufacturer price pages and each provider’s own website, recorded with the date we read them. Every guide lists its sources at the end, and we link to them where the fact appears.

How we write about compounded medications

We always say when a medication is compounded, and that compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. We never describe a compounded drug as a generic of, or the same as, an FDA-approved drug.

How we make money

Only providers that pay us appear in our rankings and reviews, and we’re paid when you sign up through our links. Scores follow the method on How we rate. See our advertiser disclosure.

How we check medical facts

Guides that cover medications, dosing or side effects are checked against the current FDA label before they are published, and again whenever we update the guide or learn that the label has changed. Each guide shows the date it was last checked.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the date on the page. To report an error, contact us with the page and what needs correcting.
