Our take
Happy Head suits someone who wants a dermatologist to choose between pills, a topical or both. The consultation with a board-certified dermatologist licensed in your state is free, and there’s no membership. As of October 2026 oral finasteride and oral minoxidil capsules are $20 a month on a 1-month subscription, falling to $17 a month on a 12-month supply. Oral dutasteride and oral spironolactone start at $42 a month, and topical finasteride with minoxidil, or a SuperCapsule with finasteride, minoxidil and vitamin D3, is $63.20 a month on subscription ($79 one time, $49 for the first order).
Know what you are getting. Happy Head says its products are compounded to order, capsules included, so most of its formulas are not FDA-approved products; its 5% minoxidil topical solution, $42 every 3 months on subscription, is the exception. Dutasteride and spironolactone are off-label for hair loss. Oral minoxidil is off-label for hair loss, and minoxidil tablets carry a boxed warning for fluid around the heart and worsening angina, so tell your clinician about any heart condition.
Shipping is free, you can pause, skip or cancel at any time, and if you are unsatisfied Happy Head refunds your most recent month’s supply within 6 months. The lowest monthly prices need a longer supply, prices are labeled a limited-time offer, and the dispensing pharmacy isn’t named. Follow-up and messaging after the first consult aren’t described. Happy Head displays LegitScript certification.
Our score of 8.9 puts it near the top of the hair loss providers we compare, strong on price and held back by thinly described follow-up care.
