In short

  1. BlueChew GOLD combines 4 drugs in one tablet you dissolve under the tongue: sildenafil, tadalafil, apomorphine and oxytocin. A compounding pharmacy prepares it, and it isn’t FDA-approved.
  2. It comes in 3 strengths. Extra has 110 mg of sildenafil, above the 100 mg maximum on the Viagra label, and High and Extra have 22 mg of tadalafil, above the 20 mg as-needed maximum on the Cialis label.
  3. GOLD started at $7.30 a tablet on Oct 27, 2026, about twice BlueChew’s SIL tablet ($3.53). FDA-approved generic sildenafil cost $1.60 to $6.25 a dose online in October 2026.
  4. Both the Viagra and Cialis labels say combining them with other ED drugs hasn’t been studied; the Viagra label says such combinations may further lower blood pressure and aren’t recommended.
  5. In a study of 6 men, only 0.007% to 0.07% of an oxytocin dose placed under the tongue reached the blood.
  6. We found no published trial of these 4 drugs together, and no randomized trial of oxytocin for ED.

BlueChew GOLD is a compounded tablet you dissolve under the tongue that combines four drugs: sildenafil (the drug in Viagra), tadalafil (the drug in Cialis), apomorphine and oxytocin. It started at $7.30 a tablet on Oct 27, 2026, about twice the price of BlueChew’s single-drug sildenafil tablet, and like everything BlueChew sells it isn’t FDA-approved.

It is not simply a stronger dose of one ED drug. Here is what is in each strength, how those amounts compare with the FDA labels, what the evidence says about each ingredient, and what it costs against FDA-approved generic tablets.

What is BlueChew?

BlueChew is a telehealth service run by Dermacare LLC of Chicago. You fill in an online medical profile, a licensed provider from one of five provider-owned medical groups reviews it, usually within 24 hours, and partner compounding pharmacies make and ship the tablets. It serves every US state except North Dakota. Its four products are SIL (sildenafil), TAD (tadalafil), VAR (vardenafil) and GOLD, all tablets that dissolve in the mouth. Our BlueChew review covers who runs it, its pharmacies, its ratings and the FDA warning letter it received in 2025.

What is in BlueChew GOLD

BlueChew lists three strengths on its GOLD page, read Oct 27, 2026:

Scroll sideways to see the full table

StrengthSildenafilTadalafilApomorphineOxytocin
Base70 mg18 mg2 mg160 IU
High90 mg22 mg3 mg200 IU
Extra110 mg22 mg4 mg240 IU

BlueChew’s directions are to place half to one tablet under the tongue 15 minutes before sex and let it dissolve. It says GOLD starts working in about 15 minutes once dissolved and lasts 24 to 36 hours.

For context, the Viagra label sets a maximum dose of 100 mg of sildenafil, once a day, and the Cialis label a maximum of 20 mg of tadalafil for as-needed use. Extra’s sildenafil and the tadalafil in High and Extra are above those maximums. A tablet absorbed under the tongue doesn’t behave exactly like one you swallow, so the milligrams don’t translate one for one, but these doses have not been through FDA review.

GOLD is compounded: a pharmacy prepares it for your prescription. It is not Viagra or Cialis and not a generic of either, and no FDA-approved product combines these four drugs. BlueChew’s own page says the FDA “does not approve or verify compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality.”

What each ingredient does, and what’s known

Sildenafil and tadalafil. Both are PDE5 inhibitors that increase blood flow to the penis when you are aroused, and both worked for most men in the trials behind the approved tablets. Sildenafil acts for about 4 hours; tadalafil improved erections for up to 36 hours after a dose. Taking them together is the question. The Viagra label says the safety and effectiveness of combining it with other PDE5 inhibitors or ED treatments “have not been studied,” that such combinations “may further lower blood pressure,” and that they are not recommended. The Cialis label tells patients not to take it with other PDE5 inhibitors.

Apomorphine. A drug that stimulates dopamine receptors in the brain. In the US the FDA has approved it only for Parkinson’s disease, as the Apokyn injection and the Onapgo infusion, so using it for ED is off-label. A 2020 review of nine randomized trials of apomorphine under the tongue, at 2 to 6 mg for 4 to 8 weeks, found 6% to 27% more successful attempts at sex than placebo, and more men stopped because of side effects at higher doses. In a 2004 crossover trial, 34 men took apomorphine 3 mg and sildenafil 50 mg for 4 weeks each; 44% of attempts on apomorphine gave an erection firm enough for sex, against 85% on sildenafil.

Oxytocin. A hormone the FDA has approved as Pitocin, an injection used to induce labor and control bleeding after birth. It has no FDA approval for ED, and its use here is off-label. In a 1995 study, 6 men took 400 IU under the tongue, more than any GOLD strength; only 0.007% to 0.07% of the dose reached the blood, a tenfold spread between people, and the authors called the route unreliable for accurate dosing.

The four together. A PubMed search on Oct 27, 2026 found no published trial of a product combining these drugs, and no randomized trial of oxytocin for ED. BlueChew’s page calls them “four proven ingredients,” but the evidence is for each drug alone, mostly as an approved tablet or injection, not for this tablet.

BlueChew price: GOLD vs other options

These are starting prices from each company’s own page. BlueChew’s single-drug prices and the Hims price are as of October 2026; GOLD was read on Oct 27, 2026.

OptionStarting priceFDA-approved
BlueChew GOLD (4 drugs)$7.30 a tabletNo, compounded
BlueChew SIL (sildenafil)$3.53 a tabletNo, compounded
BlueChew VAR (vardenafil)$4.34 a tabletNo, compounded
BlueChew TAD (tadalafil)$4.47 a tabletNo, compounded
Generic sildenafil tablets online$1.60 to $6.25 a doseYes
Hims generic sildenafil$4 per useYes

BlueChew plans start at $20 a month, and the price depends on the product, the strength and how many tablets you get. Each billing cycle covers the medication, shipping and tax, with no separate membership. In October 2026 BlueChew was offering “Try 2 months of Gold, get 1 free.” It takes no returns on prescription products, and you cancel by putting the plan on hold at least 24 hours before renewal (its terms say 48 hours).

So per tablet, GOLD costs about twice SIL and more than the top of the range for FDA-approved generic sildenafil. Our sildenafil list compares current per-dose prices.

Side effects

BlueChew’s GOLD page lists side effects for each ingredient. From sildenafil and tadalafil: headache, flushing, indigestion, stuffy nose, back and muscle pain, dizziness and mild vision changes. From apomorphine: nausea or vomiting, feeling faint or lightheaded, drowsiness, sweating and mouth irritation. From oxytocin: nausea.

The labels add the warnings that matter most:

  • Never take sildenafil or tadalafil with a nitrate, in any form, or with riociguat: blood pressure can drop dangerously.
  • Apomorphine must not be used with ondansetron or similar anti-nausea drugs; the Apokyn label cites reports of profound low blood pressure and loss of consciousness.
  • The Apokyn label says alcohol, blood pressure medicines and other vasodilators can deepen apomorphine’s drop in blood pressure. Sildenafil and tadalafil are vasodilators too.
  • Get emergency care for an erection lasting more than 4 hours, or sudden loss of vision or hearing. Apomorphine can also cause prolonged erections: 3 of 361 men in Apokyn’s trials reported painful ones.

Who BlueChew GOLD suits, and who should skip it

BlueChew pitches GOLD at men who want faster, longer-lasting erections and more arousal, including men whose ED is partly psychological. Whether it suits you is the prescriber’s call, but the facts point one way:

  • Start with an approved drug at a proper dose. The approved range for sildenafil is 25 to 100 mg, and for as-needed tadalafil 5 to 20 mg. A clinician can adjust the dose or switch drugs before you add more.
  • Don’t take GOLD if you use a nitrate or riociguat, which the sildenafil and tadalafil labels rule out, or ondansetron or a similar anti-nausea drug, which the apomorphine label rules out.
  • Raise it with the prescriber first if you take alpha-blockers or other blood pressure medicines, have heart disease or drink heavily, because sildenafil, tadalafil and apomorphine can each lower blood pressure.
  • Ask about cost per use. At $7.30 a tablet, a full GOLD tablet costs more than most FDA-approved generic tablets.

GOLD vs Rugiet Ready

Rugiet Ready is the closest rival: a compounded troche with sildenafil, tadalafil and apomorphine, without the oxytocin. Rugiet’s own blog put Ready at about $7.29 a dose on a 90-day plan, a price it says it checked in June 2026. Both are compounded and not FDA-approved. See is Rugiet legit and BlueChew vs Hims.

Other options

Our best online ED providers list compares providers on price per dose, care and terms, and the sildenafil and daily tadalafil lists cover the FDA-approved generics. Among providers we list, MyDrHank sells generic sildenafil from $25 a month and generic tadalafil from $30 a month, as of October 2026. Our pages on sildenafil, tadalafil and compounded ED chewables explain each one.

The bottom line

BlueChew GOLD is a four-drug compounded tablet, not a stronger single drug. Two of its drugs are labeled not to be combined, apomorphine did worse than sildenafil in a head-to-head trial, oxytocin barely absorbs under the tongue, and the mix has no published trial. At $7.30 a tablet it also costs more than FDA-approved generic sildenafil. If single tablets haven’t worked, the prescriber is the person to ask what comes next.

Questions, answered

What is BlueChew?

BlueChew is a telehealth service run by Dermacare LLC of Chicago. Licensed providers review an online profile and prescribe compounded tablets that dissolve in the mouth: SIL (sildenafil), TAD (tadalafil), VAR (vardenafil) and GOLD, a four-drug combination. Partner compounding pharmacies make and ship them to every state except North Dakota.

What is in BlueChew GOLD?

Sildenafil, tadalafil, apomorphine and oxytocin. The Base strength has 70 mg sildenafil, 18 mg tadalafil, 2 mg apomorphine and 160 IU oxytocin; High has 90 mg, 22 mg, 3 mg and 200 IU; Extra has 110 mg, 22 mg, 4 mg and 240 IU.

How much does BlueChew cost?

As of October 2026, BlueChew plans start at $20 a month, and single-drug tablets start at $3.53 (SIL), $4.34 (VAR) and $4.47 (TAD). GOLD started at $7.30 a tablet on Oct 27, 2026. Each billing cycle includes shipping and tax, with no separate membership.

Is BlueChew GOLD FDA-approved?

No. GOLD is compounded: a pharmacy prepares it for your prescription, and the FDA doesn’t review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality. It is not Viagra or Cialis and not a generic of either, and no FDA-approved product combines these four drugs.

Is BlueChew GOLD worth it?

It depends on why the approved tablets haven’t worked for you, which is a question for the prescriber. GOLD costs about twice BlueChew’s sildenafil tablet and mixes two drugs whose labels say they haven’t been studied together. It adds apomorphine, which did worse than sildenafil in a head-to-head trial, and oxytocin, which has no randomized ED trial and barely absorbs under the tongue.

How long does BlueChew GOLD last?

BlueChew says its effects last 24 to 36 hours and that it starts working about 15 minutes after the tablet dissolves. The long window comes from tadalafil, which the Cialis label says improved erections for up to 36 hours after a dose.
